“Great East Japan Earthquake Experiences and Recovery” Practice Presentations
Become a ‘practice audience’ for Japanese high school students from Tohoku
The Kizuna Project is a program sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, providing fully funded, two-week study tours to 1,000 high school students from the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake on March 11, 2011.
These students have been invited to the United States to share their stories about the disaster and recovery efforts in their areas. During the trip, they will participate in homestays at schools all across the country and will give presentations to those communities about their experiences.
However, for many of these students, speaking in English in front of a large group is a daunting challenge. In order to give them the opportunity to practice with an American audience, we invite the members of the greater Seattle area to join 150 Japanese students for an evening of exchange and activities.
Be the first to hear their stories, ask them questions and offer feedback that will be helpful when they debut their presentations at their host schools. We welcome you to stay for snacks and conversation.
