Welcome to February! PNWJETAA’s monthly meeting will take place this month on Wednesday the 1st from 6:30pm to about 8pm, and all alumni are welcome to attend. Meeting topics will include plans for our annual Shinenkai, officer elections, and much more! Please note that this month’s meeting will not be at HBCC.

RSVP – Karaoke Nijikai

Done with Shinnenkai and looking for something else?Something musically-inclined? Something POPping into your brain? Want to hoplike bunnies around a room with me? Interested in hearing people sing likezombies are coming around the corner? Want to hear some of us caterwaul?

Look no further than Venus Karaoke, right across the streetfrom our Shinnenkai location of Nagomi Teahouse! Nijikai for the win!

When: 8 – 11PM

Where: Venus Karaoke, 601 S. King St. #102, Seattle

Cost: $10

Also: We’ll have a banquet license for the room so it’s BYOVAD – bring your own very awesome drink (s)!

Dinner and a Movie Night – Norwegian Wood!

Have an open Friday this week?  Come out for dinner and a movie with PNWJETAA!

Norwegian Wood, based on the famous Haruki Murakami book, is playing with the Seattle International Film Festival at the Uptown starting this Friday.  We’re planning on meeting for dinner at Genki Sushi then walking over to the Uptown for the 9:15pm showing!

 

When:  Friday, Jan 27th – Dinner @ 7:30pm, Movie @ 9:15pm

Where: Genki Sushi

 SIFF Cinema at the Uptown

511 Queen Anne Avenue N, Seattle

Tickets:  Please purchase your own tickets for the movie.  I would recommend purchasing them beforehand at the box office or online here.  You can also purchase the day of but the Norwegian Wood showings sold out at SIFF last year!

Save the date – SeattleJapanRelief Anniversary Event

Please mark your calendars for Sunday, March 11th.  SeattleJapanRelief.org, of which PNWJETAA is a coalition member, will be holding an event at Seattle Center to mark the one year anniversary of the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami.  The all-day event will focus on remembrance, preparedness and rebuilding.
